Aeradisphere

Aeradisphere

image The Aeradisphere is a massive ball of energy located near the center of the universe. It is a celestial anomaly that causes a unique flux in time/space, resulting in the interior being located on a different plane of existence from the exterior, completely independent of our own understanding of reality.

The sphere lining, or "shell," is composed predominantly of unparalleled levels of a rare plasma called laurelian, which is responsible for a number of unique occurrences, including the bizarre spacial shifts encountered when crossing existential planes, the Aeradian species' ability to warp through space (and, in the case of the Xilon, time) and also those same species' incredibly long life spans.

The interior of the Aeradisphere is essentially its own smaller, self-contained universe, with flotsam and jetsam occasionally falling through to or from the outside world. From the inside, the energy that makes up the shell is not visible. The curved borders of the sphere simply appear to be a pulsating deep black surface that may resemble one's perspective of a rapidly approaching black hole.

image For the most part, the far regions of the sphere interior (the areas located near the shell) are empty, with little more than black space and the occasional cloud to be seen. There are border planets here and there, far removed from the rest of the celestial bodies, with nothing else in sight. The most notable of these is Rydk, a large, peaceful globe that runs on a self-sustained rotation near the interior vortex of the Mobius Spiral, lit by a nearby firestorm. Although it remains primarily uninhabited for most of its timeline, Rydk is a very popular social spot for Xilon from all over the Sphere, and is the home base of a number of private learning centers and training retreats, making it one of the more active extrasolar planets.
