Zenon

Zenon

image Zenon is the third satellite planet and very different from its neighboring worlds. From space, it has a blue Earth-like atmosphere, but more of a purple-blue sky, dark red clouds and a bit of an overall haze. No visible landmass can be seen from afar; the entire planet simply seems to be a large ball of water. One set of tilted dark red rings, remnants of Risaen's moon, encircles the globe.

The surface of Zenon is highly unusual in that the entire main landmass is underwater. The depth of the water ranges from shallow to tens of thousands of feet down. Across most of the planet, trees, rock formations and other hints of land jut out above the water, which is crystal clear, making the surface look like one big pane of glass with trees and mountaintops sticking out like little islands. Since the Xilon are physically able to walk on water (or sink down and swim whenever they wish), the liquid surface is the same to them as any solid landmass.

image The water color varies between different shades of purple and blue, and the texture ranges from perfectly calm to rapids, depending on the location. The rapids, however, are few and far between. Where found, they often serve as major social areas, regularly hosting horse and dragon races, and other community events.

The skies of Zenon are a bright, clear, often striking shade of blue with dark red clouds. The sky turns yellow at dawn, dims to more of a light purple at twilight, and then dark blue at night. Certain locations also tend to catch a thick layer of light blue or purple mist at dusk and early morning.

image Houses are built on stilted wooden, metal, glass or stone structures, or on top of the various islands and estuaries. Just like anywhere else, Zenon has parks scattered around...but unlike anywhere else, the parks are composed of thick groups of trees where the trunks run straight down into the water.

Local wildlife includes an odd menagerie of sea creatures that resemble sea serpents and other reptiles, flying fish, colorful bird life, and unusual hybrids such as insectoid lizards and aquatic equines. Acadia Minor  >>
