Mobius Spiral

The Mobius Spiral is an interdimensional pathway, best equated to a wormhole or a rift in the fabric of reality. It runs a dangerous path between two black holes, straight through the shell of the Aeradisphere, from the inside to the outside. Due to the physical nature of the tunnel, it can be navigated only by inhabitants of the sphere interior. If an object or life form from the outside somehow manages to get past the energy field and into the vortex without perishing, it will simply find itself trapped inside a neverending tunnel. Occasionally, objects will make it through by chance, but due to the spacial shift and warping of time, no living being from the outside could ever survive the transition alone. Planets and starships are more likely to weather the interdimensional journey with minimal damage, but it is rare.

The Xilon and other Aeradian species (life forms that originated within the Sphere interior, such as the Athalites), have a biological composition that allows them to enter the vortex by way of the black holes on either end, cross through the Spiral like any solid tunnel, and emerge safely on the other side.

The interior entrance to the vortex is located near the upper lining of the Sphere, well beyond even the farthest star or planet, with only Rydk visible in the distance. To leave and explore the rest of the universe, beings must warp from any point within the Aeradisphere to the vortex, enter the tunnel, cross through it and exit into "real space" on the other side, at which point they can jump onwards to any other part of the multiverse.
