Terra Firma

From space, Terra Firma appears to be a bright, multicolored Jovian with thick layers of swirling gases and two colorful sets of intersecting rings. It is the largest of the five central worlds and remains static, located at the exact center point of Chrysalian with the other seven bodies revolving around it. Often referred to as "Xilon" or sometimes as simply "Terra," it is known for being a lively, active place.

From the planet's hidden surface, the skies appear to be a vivid swirl of color during the day, turning a misty blue at dawn, orange at twilight and dark purple at night. Even the terrain itself is a rolling landscape of colorful mountains, lakes, valleys, forests and waterfalls, with towns and villages scattered throughout, giving it a somewhat psychedelic feel.

Local wildlife is composed of biologically advanced canines, felines and equines, as well as a number of breeds of dragon, advanced forms of bird, and a range of unusual hybrids. These animals range from fierce predators to more domesticated types that reside in populated areas and interact with the Xilon, often attaching themselves to a particular family or individual.

Due to the wild nature of the planet, hunting is rare and the location is widely considered a sanctuary for wildlife and a haven for exotic floral growth. It is also where the vast majority of Xilon children go for their primary studies and for recreational purposes.

Even more than other Xilon, Terrans are particularly protective of their environment and most homes on the central planet are all-natural, cut into the mountains, located in caves or built into the branches of large trees. In the flatter areas, there are clusters of more traditionally constructed homes as well, which are generally made from tree bark, stone, glass or tightly packed masses of soil and foliage. The majority of communities are found in mountainous regions, but there are numerous villages scattered throughout the valleys and deserts as well.
